La Roseraie has been known as a hotel in Lucenay Léveque
since 1856 and has been the center of the community. Hans
van Braak en Barbara van Stek bought the old hotel which
had been empty for 23 years and restored it to a
restaurant and chambres d’hotes with all modern comforts
in a quirky french modern style.
From September 1st 2011 we, Ellen and Menno together with
our son Yoshua will try to maintain the atmosphere that
Hans and Barbara created.
La Roseraie is a splendid place to be yourself, whether
you like peace and quiet, cosiness or activity. All 3
rooms are situated on the second floor so you can fully
enjoy the views of the surrounding hills. Each room has
its own style and the feeling that you could stay there
forever is important to us.
At the front of La Roseraie is the village Lucenay
L’Eveque, a typical sleepy Morvan village with a square
where the town hall is, a church and a few small shops.
Every Tuesday Yanik and Annick organize a vegetable and
fruit market of great diversity on the opposite side of
the street.
At the back of our property runs the river the Ternin, a
small but lovely water to play in. In between is the
village petanque-court. There is a tennis court only
200meters from La Roseraie that can be hired for a mere €
5,- per hour. The Morvan also offers walking trails,
cycling and even climbing. And there are some lovely lakes
like Lac de Pannecière and Lac de Settons (also for
sailing).
The restaurant
at street level, offering 30 seats, offers lunches on
Saturday and Sunday and dinner on Friday and Saturday
evening. Our bed&breakfast guests can always ask for
availability of a menu on other days. Furthermore we offer
a cosy library with wood-stove and a patio where
breakfast, lunch and dinner is served on beautiful days.
And a fully equiped kitchen where cooking-workshops can be
organized.
Outside the holiday-season there is room to organize
workshops and courses or to participate in the Avatar
course, an amazing, powerful 9 day course where you learn
skills to create the life you would like to have and how to
get a quite mind. For more information on the Avatar course
